H.E. Mr. Ignazio Cassis, Vice President and Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, will pay an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The visit is part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Switzerland and provides an opportunity for both sides to discuss measures to upgrade their bilateral relations, especially on public health, reduction of greenhouse gas emission, education, trade and investment.

During the visit, the Vice President and Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.), Prime Minister of Thailand, at the Government House, as well as to have a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health. Moreover, the Swiss delegation will bring with them a donation of 102 medical ventilators and 1.1 million Antigen Test kits for Thailand.

Throughout their stay in Thailand, the Vice President and Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation and his delegation will strictly observe Thailand’s COVID-19 preventive measures, with a view to ensuring public health and safety of the Thai people.
