On 19 March 2025, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, along with Ms. Pittara Navarat, Minister Counsellor, and Mr. Natouch Thammanuruk, Counsellor, had meeting with Mr. Johan Sanberg, CEO of Seatwirl, a Swedish SME specializing in floating wind turbines for electricity generation. The company is currently exploring new markets and seeking partnerships beyond Europe, including in Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Japan.

During the meeting, the Ambassador engaged in an extensive exchange of views with the Seatwirl executive team and expressed support for potential collaboration between the company and Thailand. This partnership aligns with Thailand’s green transition goals, particularly in advancing the country’s clean energy initiatives.

In addition, the Ambassador and her delegation had the opportunity to visit Seatwirl’s prototype wind turbine in Lysekil. This turbine features floating technology that allows it to be installed in deep-sea environments, while conventional wind turbines typically require land-based or offshore installations near the coast.
