On 23 October 2025, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, led Thai officials from the Embassy and Team Thailand, together with family members, to attend a ceremony in remembrance of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn at Chulalongkorn’s Memorial Pavilion in Ragunda. Mr. Anton Waara, Mayor of Ragunda Municipality, as well as staff members of the Municipality, Thai monks, Thai communities, and Swedish friends from various cities in Sweden also took part in the ceremony. The Ambassador and the Mayer delivered a speech in remembrance of King Rama 5 the great for HMJ’s vision to modernize Thailand and HMJ’s visit to Sweden and Ragunda 128 years ago which formed long standing relations and continued cooperation between the two countries to this day. The Mayor, after the ceremony, also hosted a luncheon for the Ambassador and the delegation.
