On 17 February 2025, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand met and congratulated H.E. Mrs. Edirisinghe Arachchilage Sriyani Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty.

Both sides also discussed bilateral issues and various areas of cooperation. This follows the official visit to Sri Lanka by former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin in February 2024. Additionally, they discussed joint activities to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka in 2025, as well as the promotion of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries which will be further advanced through the 6th Bilateral Political Consultations to be held in Bangkok in March 2025.
