On May 25, 2022, Mr. Michal Pavúk, Director-General for Political Affairs, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and attended the Thai-Slovak Political Consultation meeting, co-chaired by Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during an official visit to Thailand from 24-25 May 2022.

Both sides reiterated the close and cordial ties between Thailand and the Slovak Republic, which will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2023. Both sides also discussed ways to steer forward cooperation in various fields including exchange of visits among business communities as well as cooperation under the Bio-Circular-Green Economic Model (BCG), environment, water management, energy transition and cyber security.

The two sides also discussed cooperation under the multilateral framework, including climate change as well as cooperation between Thailand and the Slovak Republic within the EU Framework and the Visegrád Group which comprises the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and the Republic of Slovakia.
