On 3 February 2025, Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul General of Thailand in Siem Reap, paid a courtesy call on Ms. Ban Sreymom, Governor of Pailin Province, at the Pailin Provincial Office in Cambodia on the occasion of his assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed the close ties between Pailin Province and Thailand’s border provinces, consular affairs and the protection of Thai nationals in Pailin, as well as cooperation in combating cross-border crime, particularly call center scams and online fraud.

The Consul General also participated in a meeting on establishing sister city relations between Sa Kaeo and Pailin, co-chaired by the governors of both provinces. The meeting agreed to formalize sister city relations and coordinate the drafting of a memorandum of understanding to facilitate exchanges, promote trade and investment, and enhance collaboration between the private sectors of both sides.
