On 30 April 2025, Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul General of Thailand in Siem Reap, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Khoy Rida, Governor of Pursat Province, to introduce himself and discuss bilateral cooperation in the border areas.

The two sides exchanged views on enhancing cross-border trade, facilitating the movement of people and goods, and promoting people-to-people exchanges. They also discussed the forthcoming opening of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Siem Reap, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cambodia in 2025. Additionally, both parties explored the possibility of expanding border crossing points between Pursat Province and Trat Province in Thailand.
