On 9 December 2022, Mrs. Pornpimol Kanchanalak, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on Myanmar, had a bilateral meeting with Mrs. Julieta Valls Noyes, the United States’ Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees and Migration, during the latter’s visit to Thailand from 7 – 10 December 2022.

​Both sides exchanged information and views on the situation in Myanmar and ways forward, including the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar people. Mrs. Pornpimol emphasized on Thailand’s and ASEAN’s efforts to address the situation in Myanmar. Mrs. Noyes stated her belief that all countries shared the same goal of wanting to see peace and democracy return to Myanmar.
