On 24 March 2025, H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation. Both sides discussed potential areas of cultural cooperation between Thailand and Russia, encompassing both traditional and contemporary culture, such as literature, music, theater and film, as well as the exchange of media content in various domains, including Thai cuisine, Thai traditional massage, and Thai media.

Additionally, opportunities for cooperation in the field of education between the two countries were also explored. Both sides also conveyed their willingness to continue close collaboration in advancing their proposed initiatives, especially the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra’s (RBSO) performances, which will take place in Moscow and St. Petersburg this upcoming April 2025, as well as other culture-related areas of cooperation, with a view to further strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.
