On 19 August 2021, H.E. Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Consul General, presided over a meeting-cum-training session at Siam Restaurant in Dubai, with the participation of presidents of Thai societies, representatives of Thai students, Thai labour, and a network of volunteers helping Thai people in distress in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. There were 35 participants in the meeting. Mrs. Palida Ruamkham, Minister-Counsellor (Labour Affairs), Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, as well as officials and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai and the Office of Labour Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, also attended the meeting.
 
The meeting was organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai with the aim of imparting useful information to Thai community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, as well as exchanging viewpoints amongst the participants on several issues. They included the protection of Thai nationals in Dubai and the Northern Emirates during the spread of COVID-19, important labour issues, activities for Thai community in the year 2021/2022, and other essential and useful information that Thai nationals should be aware of such as Thailand’s events during the Expo 2020 in Dubai. On this occasion, the Royal Thai Consulate-General also gave the participants COVID-19 prevention kits as well as other essentials to help curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
