On 29 June 2026, Ms. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended a reception celebrating the 500th Anniversary of Mughal Heritage of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the Amari Bangkok Hotel.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary jointly delivered opening remarks with H.E. Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand, extending congratulations to Pakistan and highlighting the contributions of Mughal civilisation to art, architecture, and cultural exchange across Asia. She noted that the influence of Mughal heritage continues to be reflected across Southeast Asia, including in Thailand, through the architectural styles of several mosques, underscoring the role of culture in connecting peoples and societies. She also emphasised that Thailand and Pakistan should seize the opportunity of their 75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations to further strengthen cooperation across various fields for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
