On 22 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired a joint meeting between the public and private sectors to discuss the development of the southern provinces along the Andaman coast at Ranong City Hall, with representatives from both public and private sectors attended.

The Deputy Prime Minister delivered an opening remarks underscoring the tourism potential of the 6 southern provinces along the Andaman Coast (Ranong, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Phang Nga, and Satun) for their standards to be developed up to the world-class level, due to their strengths in standardised agriculture, fishery, and livestock sectors. In addition, the development of their transportation networks for regional and local connectivity would also add economic value and raise people’s living standards.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister was also briefed on various project proposals by the governors and business representatives in attendance, of which he approved 13 provincial projects and 7 development projects proposed by the private sector. The project proposals will be proposed to the Mobile Cabinet Meeting for consideration on 23 January 2024.
