On 3 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, signed the Agreement on Exemption of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official/Special Passports between the Government of Thailand and Qatar, together with H.E. Mr. Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

Both sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also expressed his sincere appreciation for Qatar’s continued support in facilitating and coordinating with the relevant parties to secure the safe release of five Thai nationals in the Gaza Strip on 30 January 2025.
