On 29 March 2021, H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, met with H.E. Mrs. Millicent Cruz-Paredes, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Thailand, at the latter’s introductory call on her appointment.

The Permanent Secretary reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening ties in all dimensions between the two countries. Both sides discussed wide-ranging issues, including the organisation of the 6th Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) between Thailand and the Philippines, the current COVID-19 situation, and vaccine rollout plans. The two sides also discussed cooperation on trade and investment, defence, labour, public health and education. They also exchanged views on regional issues, especially the role of ASEAN.
