Permanent Secretary and Ambassador of the UAE to Thailand strengthened the 45-year cordial relationship between Thailand and the UAE, focusing on promotion of trade & investment and cooperation on food security, STI, and sustainable development, especially on renewable energy.

On 16 March 2021, H.E. Mr. Saif Abulla Mohammed Khalfan Alshamisi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Both sides shared common view on the cordial relationship between Thailand and the UAE which commemorated the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2020. To strengthen and deepen the bilateral relations, Thailand and the UAE will increase cooperation in the areas of (1) trade and investment, which both countries can be gateways for one another in the regions (Southeast Asia and the Middle East); (2) food security; (3) Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), which the UAE has advanced enormously in recent years, and (4) sustainable development, especially on renewable energy development.
