On 10 June 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of Iran to Thailand, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty. Both sides were pleased with the two countries' long historical relationship of more than 400 years and that the two countries will celebrate their 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025. They also discussed ways to further strengthen relations in bilateral areas of cooperation such as trade, investment, tourism, education, and in multilateral frameworks, particularly in activities related to meetings within the ACD, of which Thailand is one of the co-founders and Iran is the current Chair.
