On 20 April 2023, Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a virtual meeting with Ms. Jenny Bates, Director-General for Indo-Pacific, UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and UK SOM Leader. Both sides exchanged views on the way forward in advancing cooperation under the ASEAN-UK Plan of Action (2022-2026) including health security, renewable energy, green transition and digital transformation. The UK also reaffirmed their commitment to playing an active and constructive role in the Indo-Pacific region and reiterated their interest in joining the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
