H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, will pay an official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on 30 May 2024 at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The Thai Foreign Minister will have a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR. The two sides will follow up on the outcomes of the official visit to Lao PDR by the Thai Prime Minister in October 2023, including cross-border trade and transport, infrastructure connectivity between the two countries and in the region, tourism cooperation and the common challenge of transboundary haze. Both sides will also discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern.

The Foreign Minister will also pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR and meet with representatives of the Thai business community in the Lao PDR.
