H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, will pay an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during 26 - 29 January 2024.

The objectives of the said visit include enhancing cooperation between Thailand and China, including in the areas of trade, investment, security, culture, tourism, and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest. The Thai side will take this opportunity to reiterate its vision on Thai-Chinese relations, based on Thailand’s One China policy as well as common interests and international principles that the two countries adhere to, towards the building of a Thailand-China Community with a Shared Future for Enhanced Stability, Prosperity and Sustainability. Thailand and China will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2025.

H.E. Mr. Wang Yi’s programme of visit to Thailand include paying a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, at the Government House, and co-chairing with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand the First Meeting of the Consultation Mechanism between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and the People’s Republic of China at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Wang Yi will also co-sign, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passports and Passports for Public Affairs between Thailand and China, which will enter into force on 1 March 2024.

H.E. Mr. Wang Yi last visited Thailand in July 2022.
