On 13 June 2023, the Cabinet endorsed the appointment of Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan as the new Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) Governor for Thailand with immediate effect and three-year term.

Earlier this year, the selection committee voted unanimously in support of Mrs. Chartsuwan to succeed Dr. Darmp Sukontasap, the current ASEF Governor for Thailand, who wished to step down from the position after 8 years in office.

Mrs. Chartsuwan has extensive experiences and expertise in Asia-Europe relations as former Director-General of the Department of European Affairs and former Asia-Europe Meeting Senior Official (ASEM SOM) for Thailand. She was also seconded to ASEF in the position of Director of Cultural Exchange between 2002-2005.
