On 16 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with a delegation of executives and officers from the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) led by Mr. Kriangkrai Thianukul, the President of FTI.

Both sides exchanged views on current challenges in the Thai industrial sector, including impacts stemming from the global geopolitical situation, digital disruption, competitiveness of the Thai private sector, and cooperation between the public and private sectors to drive forward the Thai economy. In particular, they discussed how economic diplomacy could support the expansion of the industrial sector into foreign markets, with a focus on the agricultural and medical industries, as both are considered Thailand's strengths and are consequential to the livelihoods of many.

In addition, they discussed the promotion of private sector cooperation under the various international frameworks, as well as the current progress on free trade agreement negotiations. On this occasion, both sides agreed to conitnue to cooperate closely.
