The Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon Organizes the First-ever Thai Festival in Myanmar

The Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, in collaboration with the Office of Commercial Affairs in Yangon, the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM), the Thai-Myanmar Business Council (TMBC), the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), and Junction City Shopping Mall in Yangon, organized the Thai Festival 2024 in Yangon. The event took place at the promotional area of Junction City Shopping Mall, Yangon, and marked the first-ever Thai Festival in Myanmar.
 
On September 27, 2024, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai Festival 2024 in Yangon. The event was attended by representatives from Thai private sector, members of the press, as well as the Thai communities in Myanmar and Myanmar nationals attending the event.
The Thai Festival 2024 in Yangon took place from September 27 to 29, 2024. The event featured three main activities as follows:
 
(1) Booth exhibitions by 53 Thai and Myanmar companies, showcasing Thai products and services such as food, health and beauty products, clothing, tourism, and entertainment. Additionally, Myanmar high-qualitied products such as beverages and health products were also on display. The Thai retailers in Junction City Shopping Mall also offered special promotions as part of the Festival. Moreover, a pop-up corner of the Thai products is set up at Marketplace, Junction City Branch, during the three days of the event.
 
(2) Stage performances included traditional Thai dances, Muay Thai, Thai cooking demonstrations, and Thai fashion show. The event also featured special appearances by well-known Myanmar artists and actors such as Paing Takhon, Hein Thit, and Kira, along with Thai artists Lula and Palaphol from GMM Grammy, Gun Napat from One 31, as well as See-Keen, and Aun-Achi from GMMTV.
