On August 23, 2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, welcomed Mr. Tsuchikawa, Head of Nakamaru Shinwa Chokai, along with its 30 members, both adults and children, who live in Nakamaru neighborhood.
The Ambassador delivered a brief welcoming speech, explaining the functions and operations of the Royal Thai Embassy, as well as Thailand – Japan relations. He highlighted the significant milestone from the previous year, which saw the elevation of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Japan to a "comprehensive strategic partnership." Following the speech, the group was invited for a Thai-style afternoon tea at the Ambassador’s residence.
Nakamaru Shinwa Chokai is a community group composed of locals residing in the Nakamaru neighborhood, where the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo is situated. This group organizes various activities within the community. Among these activities is a matsuri, during which they carry a Mikoshi (portable shrine) and parade it around the neighborhood, including a visit to the Embassy.
