On 2 August 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy held the “Creating Happiness for the Elderly at Shinagawa Ward Kami-Osaki Special Nursing Home” voluntary activity to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on the occasion of Her Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2024. At the elderly nursing home, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, led volunteers, including the officials of the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand, together with their spouses, in organising recreational activities for the elderly and kindergarten children. The total number of approximately 120 people participated in activities, comprising a music performance, choral singing, a dance performance, games, Muay Thai demonstration and Ram Wong dance. The activities encouraged the elderly and the kindergarten children to engage in physical exercise and interpersonal interactions, which helped promote their physical and mental health. Broadcast on a local channel, the outreach activities provided an opportunity for the Royal Thai Embassy to connect with the local community and the Shinagawa City.
