During 26 – 27 September 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice organized a special lecture on “Thai - Italian Cultural Legacy in Thai History” by Associate Professor Dr. Predee Phisphumvidhi, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University and Mr. Kunlachart Chaimongkol, Yupparaj Wittayalai School, Chiang Mai, Thailand and a screening of a short documentary film “Me and the Magic Door” to raise an awareness of shared historical ties between Thailand and Italy on the element of Italian art and architecture in Thailand especially in urban development sector.

Moreover, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy and the Thai delegation also met with Professor Dr. Marco Ceresa, Department Director, Department of Asian and North African Studies of Ca' Foscari University of Venice to discuss cooperation on education with Ca’ Foscari University which is the only university in Italy that offers Thai language course and possible activities in the future. The visit also included a university tour guided by the students.

The abovementioned activity was organized with an aim to promote academic cooperation and connection between Thailand and Italy as well as enhancing people-to-people relations.
