On 23 March 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy had a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Alessandra Schiavo, Deputy Director – General for Global Affairs/Principal Director for the Countries of Asia and Oceania at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Both sides discussed ways to promote Thailand-Italy bilateral relations on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of diplomatic relations, especially the high-level visits in 2023 and cooperation in the ASEAN framework, in particular the convening of the 7th High – Level Dialogue on ASEAN - Italy Economic Relations in October 2023 in Bangkok. Both sides also exchanged information on recent regional cooperation, namely the relaunch of Thai-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations and the ratification of Thailand-EU Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

In addition, on 28 March 2023, Ambassador of Thailand together with Captain Meteechai Kaewnin, RTN, Office of the Defence and Naval Attaché had a discussion with Professor Andrea Margelletti, President of Center for International Studies (Ce.S.I.) to exchange views on recent developments in Thailand-Italy relations, Thailand-EU relations, EU – Indo – Pacific relations, and ASEAN – Italy cooperation.
