On 5 December 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, presided over a religious ceremony to celebrate the three auspicious occasions, namely the commemoration of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day at Wat Thai Norway, Oslo. The Ceremony was conducted by Phramaha Singha Kavesago, Abbot of Wat Thai Norway Bergen, Phra Wi Thu Da Hla Tin, Abbot of Dhamma Sukha Temple and members of the sangha from the Dhamma Sukha Temple and Wat Thai Gardemoen.
Ambassador Vimolbajra and the Embassy’s officials joined together with about 30 people from the Thai community in Norway in making merit and offering alms to the monks. Ambassador Vimolbajra also gave a citation honoring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s extraordinary contribution to the Thai people, especially the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which provided a guidance for the people to live sustainably and paved the way for the Thai society to become stronger and more resilient.
The Thai community in Norway had also an opportunity to see a video footage from the Royal Audience of the Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General on 24 November 2023.
Thai temples in various cities of Norway such as Kristiansand, Stavanger, Trondheim, Larvik and Narvik as well as Wat Thai Temple in Iceland also organized the religious ceremony for Thai communities to celebrate this auspicious occasion.
