Counsellor attended Loy Krathong Festivals, organized by the Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Thai Culture Suthammo

On 25 November 2023, Ms. Potchamas Saengthien, Counsellor, attended Loy Krathong Festivals, organized by the Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Thai Culture Suthammo, at Knutepunkt Strømsø, Drammen. Mr. Kjell Arne Hermansen, Mayor of Drammen, Thai community and Friends of Thailand from Drammen and nearby cities of almost 300 people also participated in the event.

The Royal Thai Embassy fully supports various activities of Thai community, especially on the teaching of Thai language and Thai culture to Thai-Norwegian children in Norway. As the Thai-Norwegian children represent the future of Thai-Norwegian relations in the most genuine and meaningful way, especially people-to-people relations, the Embassy commends and supports great efforts by the Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Thai Culture Suthammo (STSK) to achieve this purpose.

The Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Thai Culture Suthammo (STSK) registered as Association in November 2017 and included “Suthammo” in name of the Center to pay a respect to Phra Ajarn Chatchai Suthammo, who established the Thai language teaching project, which is later developed to be STSK. The STSK is aimed at teaching Thai language and culture for Thai-Norwegian children and Norwegians who are interested in Thai language and culture.
