On 1 November 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a luncheon in honour of Ms. Sukanya Kongkhang, who was awarded as the “Consul Volunteer” in recognition of her dedication in coordinating with the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo to provide consular services for Thai community in Norway. Mr. Kjell Ivar Liseth,Ms. Sukanya’s husband was also invited to celebrate in this joyful occasion.

The “Consul Volunteer” Award is the Award given by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand which is in line with the Ministry’s public diplomacy and in empowering the Thai community abroad by giving recognition to Thais who have been actively and voluntarily assisting the Royal Thai Embassies/Consulate-Generals around the world in taking care and helping Thai communities abroad.

The Royal Thai Embassy hopes that the “Consul Volunteer” Award would be an inspiration for the Thai community in Norway and Iceland, especially the younger generation to continue their kind cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy to support the important tasks in assisting their fellow Thai citizens in Norway and Iceland.
