On 24 October 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, along with Ms. Bheraya Homkosol, Counsellor and Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy, went to the Ullevål Sykehus Oslo Hospital to pay a visit and give encouragement and support to the families of 11 Thai tourists in the recent car accident on 11 October 2023 on Highway No. 7 from Geilo to Oslo.

Ambassador Vimolbajra visited the injured patient and gave financial support to the family. She reaffirmed that the Embassy would continue to help and provide all necessary coordination to facilitate and assist each and everyone of the Thai tourists during their recovery in Norway until their return to Thailand. On this occasion, Ambassador Vimolbajra also went to visit the three-year old boy whose parents, sadly, have passed away on the scene. Overall, everyone seemed to be in good spirit despite the greatest grief they are going through.

Ambassador Vimolbajra expressed her deepest appreciation to the medical team, including doctors, nurses, and staffs at the the Ullevål Sykehus Oslo Hospital for providing the best medical treatment and care to the Thai tourists injured in the accident as well as their coordination with the Embassy and families and relatives of the injured. It was gratifying to learn that all the Norwegian medical team at the Hospital are very sensitive to the feelings and for putting a priority on the healing of the hearts and minds of the Thai families after having gone through such a trauma.

The Embassy would like to express our full support to the families of the Thai tourists and remains committed to continue to render full and facilitate all possible necessary assistance. The Embassy would like to express our special appreciation to the Thai community in Norway and Wat Thai Norway for sending their goodwill, concern, and support to the families of Thai tourists and provided them with various means of meaningful assistance including the financial aid.
