ASEAN Family Day in Oslo

On 8 October 2023, the ASEAN Family Day was organized at the Thai Residence in Oslo. H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, and H.E. Mr. Enrico T. Fos, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Norway, as the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Oslo (ACO), gave their welcoming remarks underlining the importance of friendship and solidarity among ASEAN Embassies which constitute a core relationship for ASEAN Embassies to further promote the mutual interest as well as cooperation with the host country and beyond.

The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Enrico T. Fos, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Norway and Madam Myla Antoinette Fos, H.E. Ms. Maw Maw, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Norway, H.E. Mr. Dinh Nho Hung, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Norway, and Madam Tran Ha My, H.E. Dr. Teuku Faizasyah, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Norway and Madam Andis Faizasyah. About 50 ASEAN diplomats, officers, and their family members also attended.

The event started with singing together the ASEAN Anthem to express ASEAN unity and solidarity. Then, each ASEAN Ambassadors took turn introducing their delicious national dishes and delicacies to be shared at the luncheon. Afterwards, the ASEAN Ambassadors and officers and their families joined in singing karaoke and line dancing. The ASEAN Family Day is held annually to strengthen solidarity and friendship among ASEAN diplomats and their families in Norway.
