On 19 August 2022, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a farewell and congratulatory dinner for H.E. Mrs. Kjersti Rødemoen, Ambassador of Norway to Thailand and her spouse, Mr. Jens Petter Olsen, on the occasion of Ambassador Rødemoen’s upcoming assumption of position as the Ambassador of Norway to Switzerland in September 2022. Guests from the Ministry Affairs of Norway also include H.E. Ms. Katja Nordgaard, Ambassador of Norway to Denmark (former Ambassador of Norway to Thailand) and H.E. Ms. Signe Brudeset, Ambassador of Norway to the People’s Republic of China.

 

During Ambassador Rødemoen’s four years tenure as Ambassador of Norway to Thailand, she played an important role in promoting bilateral relations between Thailand and Norway. Her many notable achievements include the facilitation of the resumption of the Thai-EFTA FTA negotiation, her advocacy on cooperation in marine sustainability, and the commemoration of the 115th Anniversary of the Thai-Norwegian diplomatic relations in 2020 through a photography exhibition “Hundred Years Between” by Thanpuying Sirikitiya Jensen and the “Hundred Years Between” book launch at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
