Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, presided over the Buddhist merit making ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2023

On 12 August 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, presided over the Buddhist merit making ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2023 at Wat Thai Norway.

The Buddhist ceremony was conducted by Phra Vimolsasanavides, Abbot of Wat Thai Norway and Chief of Thai Dhammaduta Bhikkhu Union in Europe, and 15 members of the sangha, including Phramaha Suriya Voramedhi, Abbot of Wat Thai Gardermoen and Phramaha Singha Kavesago Bhikkhu, Abbot of Wat Thai Norway, Bergen. The ceremony was well attended by Embassy’s officials and staffs and over 80 members of Thai community in Norway.

On this occasion, Ambassador Vimolbajra attended cultural activities to celebrate this auspicious occasion and opened the Thai silk exhibition organized by Thai Women’s Association in Norway, Thai Buddhist Association, Wat Thai Norway, and Thai community in Norway. The activities also included cultural performances by Thai children from the Language and Cultural Centre, Wat Thai Norway, and traditional musical performances by the Thai Music and Dance Club in Norway.

Ambassador Vimolbajra and the Embassy’s officials also joined in training project entitled the “Householder Dhammaduta on the Buddhist Way of Living in Overseas” organized by Wat Thai Norway, the Dhammaduta Collage, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University and the Union of Thai Sanghas in Europe. This project was also held in commemoration of the Birthday Anniversary Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
