On 9 August 2022, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a farewell luncheon for Ms. Thea Ottmann, Special Representative for Myanmar, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and her spouse, Mr. Johan Sonander, on the occasion of Ms. Ottmann’s upcoming assumption of position as Minister Counsellor/Deputy Chief of Mission at the Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok.

 

Both sides discussed ways to promote the cooperation between the Thai Embassy in Oslo and the Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok including trade, green energy, tourism and soft power diplomacy in arts and culture, entertainment, and sports through Thai boxing or Muay Thai. Regional issues of mutual interests were also discussed. Ms. Ottmann has keen interests in Thailand and countries in Southeast Asian region as she was previously assigned to Vietnam and Singapore. The Thai Embassy in Oslo wishes DCM Ottmann all the best and is certain that she will have a very successful assignment in Thailand.
