On 30 May 2023, Phra Ajahn Jayasaro had a Dhamma conversation at the Thai Residence with the representatives from the Buddhist-Christian dialogue group, led by Mrs. Shantana Srivipa Berg, a representative of the Buddhist Federation of Norway. Ajahn Kongrit Ratanavanno, the Abbot of the Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery, and members of the Sanhga also participated.
 
Representatives from the Christian side, including Dr. Anne Hege Grung, Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo, Dr. Safet Bectovic, Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo, Ms. Tonje Kristoffersen, Manager of Church of Norway Dialogue Centre, Oslo, Ms. Marit Fiske Fjalestad, Advisor, Church of Norway Dialogue Centre, Oslo, and Ms. Eldrid Brekke, Deacon, Church of Norway, representatives from the Buddhist side, including Ani Kønchog Lhamo, American Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition and Ms. Pavichaya Hellan, accountant, (appointed by Wat Thai) as well as Mr. Per-ottó Wold, Chairman of the Board of the Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery (donated the land to build the Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery), were in attendance.
 
H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, paid respect to the member of the Sangha and delivered her opening remarks, informing the purpose of this Dhamma conversation. Mrs. Shantana Srivipa Berg, the representative of the Buddhist Federation of Norway, introduced the Buddhist Federation of Norway and the Buddhist-Christian dialogue group, jointly established by the Buddhist Federation of Norway and the Church of Norway in 1995, to promote a better understanding between the two religions or interfaith dialogue.
 
The Buddhist Federation of Norway was founded in 1979, comprising of Buddhist organizations. Presently, 16 Buddhist organizations with approximately 15,000 members have joined the Buddhist Federation in Norway. It is estimated that the total number of Buddhists in Norway is about 40,000 persons or 0.77 percent of the total population of Norway. Most Buddhists in Norway are Thais and Vietnamese. But more Norwegians and other foreigners in Norway are also interested in learning the practice of Buddhist teachings.
