On 11 April 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a Welcome Dinner in honour of H.E. Ms. Hou Yue, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, on the occasion of Ambassador Yue’s assumption as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Norway. Ambassadors from friendly ASEAN Plus Three Countries were invited, including Myanmar (H.E. Ms. Maw Maw, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar/ Dean), Philippines (H.E. Mr. Enrico Trinidad Fos, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines and Mrs. Myla Antonette F. Fos,), Vietnam (Mr. Duc Ngoc Vu, Chargé d' Affaires, a.i, Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), Indonesia (Mr. Hendra Oktavianus, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia), as well as Japan (H.E. Mr. Kawamura Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan and Mrs. Fusako Kawamura), and the Republic of Korea (H.E. Mr. Kim Pil-woo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, and Mrs. Hyun Kyung Sung). Furthermore, invited guests from the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs include H.E. Mr. Vebjørn Dysvik, Director General, Department of Regional Affairs, and Ms. Kristin Enstad, Head of the East-Asia Section, Department of Regional Affairs.

 

Ambassador Yue arrived in Norway in January 2023 and is the 20th Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Norway. The Thai Embassy is certain that the role of Ambassador Yue will further enhance the close and friendly relations between Thailand and China as well as in the context of strengthening the partnership between ASEAN Plus Three Countries and Norway.
