The Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo respectfully invited Phra Dharma Bajrayanamuni or “Ajahn Jayasaro” to pay a visit to Norway from 29 March – 1 April 2022 to promote Buddhist teachings in Norway and to give Dhamma Talk.  This project is also aimed to strengthen the Thai community and promote Thai culture and tradition in Norway.  This is the joint initiatives taken by the Thai Embassies in Denmark, Sweden and Norway to invite Ajahn Jayasaro to give Dhamma Talks in Denmark, Sweden and Norway respectively. It is a great blessings for our Thai Embassies and Thai communities in three Nordic countries where we have large Thai communities with strong faith in Buddhism.

At the Royal Thai Embassy in Norway on 29 March 2022, Ajahn Jayasaro had a Dhamma conversation with Ajahn Kalyano, the Abbot of the Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery (Lokuttara Vihara), Mr. Egil Lothe, Secretary General of the Buddhist Federation of Norway, and Mr. Patrick Magnussen, a Buddhist and the Headmaster of a Montessori school in Oslo.

The Dhamma conversation covered wide ranging issues about Buddhism and the role of the Buddhist Federation in Norway to assist Thai temples in Norway. One of the ideas suggested was how to use social media effectively to provide learning materials to propagate Buddhist teachings or Dhamma by translating into Norwegian language or ask youth in Norway who are Buddhists to make short video clip of questions and answer about Buddhism in order to promote the correct understanding about Buddhism. This can be done jointly between the Buddhist Federation in Norway, the Lokuttara Vihara, and schools in Norway.
