On 23 February 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted Working Lunch in honour of H.E. Mr. Erling Rimestad, State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to express her goodwill on the occasion of his visit to Thailand and co-hosting the 12th Thai-Norwegian Bilateral Consultations Meeting on 3 March 2023 in Bangkok. Guests include Mrs. May-Elin Stener, Acting Director General for Department for Regional Affairs, Mrs. Kristin Enstad, Head of the East-Asia Section, Section for East Asia and Oceania, and Ms. Birgitte Elise Sylthe, Senior Adviser/Thai desk officer, Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Thai-Norwegian Bilateral Consultations is a mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote bilateral relations between the two countries in all dimensions. It is the oldest bilateral mechanism that Thailand has with Northern European countries since 1997.

The Royal Thai Embassy is convinced that the upcoming visit to Thailand by H.E. Mr. Erling Rimestad, State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the 12th Bilateral Consultations to be hosted by Thailand, will be beneficial to further promote the closer relations between Thailand and Norway which is constructive and dynamic in nature. Both sides are aiming to cooperate on issues that both share potentials ranging from green transition, innovation, academic and research cooperation, trade, to empowerment of Thai community in Norway.
