On 14 January 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway invited representatives from the Thai Buddhist Association in Norway and the Language and Cultural Centre, Wat Thai Norway for a luncheon to the Thai Residence. Discussions include the Embassy’s activities to promote connection between the Embassy and the Thai community in Norway by meeting with various sectors of the Thai community including Thai Women Association in Norway and Thai legal volunteers attending JURK’s legal training course in Oslo. Ambassador Vimolbajra also plans to meet with Thai students in Norway and administrators of Facebook pages in Norway on Thailand and Norway. Ambassador Vimolbajra also seek the continued excellent cooperation from the Thai Buddhist Association in Norway on the Embassy’s Dhamma Diplomacy project this year.

 

The Thai Buddhist Association in Norway registered as a juristic person with the Union of Buddhists in Norway on August 31, 1991. At present, there are 8 board members and 5,231 members throughout Norway. Important activities this year include the Summer Novice Ordination in June and the Prajapati Gotami Programme in July.
