Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York Congratulate to Thai Actress Khun Aokbab for the 2024 International Emmy® Award in New York

On November 23, 2024, Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, along with other officials, attended the Nominee Medal Ceremony, a part of the 2024 International Emmy® World Television Festival held in New York. The ceremony awarded medals and certificates to nominees across 14 categories of the International Emmy® Awards. On this special occasion, Consul General Somjai and her team extended their warmest congratulations to Miss Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying (Khun Aokbab) for her nomination for Best Performance by an Actress for her remarkable role in ‘Hunger’, a Netflix Thailand production. They also exchanged views on ways to further strengthen the Thai film industry, as part of the country's soft power industries which has been steadily growing internationally.

The Consulate General would like to take this opportunity to officially congratulate Khun Aokbab on receiving the Best Actress award from the above nomination, which was presented at the ceremony held on November 25, 2024. This marks the first time a Thai actor/actress has been nominated for and awarded such a prestigious honor in the television industry. It is another significant achievement that brings recognition to the Thai film industry on the global stage.
