Consul General in New York Participated in Inauguration Ceremony of the Stupa at Wat Pa Buddha Thai Thavorn Albany of New York

On August 11, 2024, Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General in New York, along with officials and staff from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Stupa at Wat Pa Buddha Thai Thavorn Albany of New York. The event was attended by Buddhist devotees and members of the Thai community. The Consul General took part in the merit-making and Buddhist chanting ceremonies and led the procession to enshrine the Buddha's relics and the four ceremonial umbrellas in the four directions of the Stupa.
 
Wat Pa Buddha Thai Thavorn Albany of New York began the construction of the Stupa in 2021, and it was completed this year. The temple, therefore, organized this inauguration ceremony to coincide with the celebration of its 9th anniversary on August 12.
