The Royal Thai Embassy organised the 8th annual edition of the Namaste Thailand Online Quiz during 12 September - 3 October 2022 and the special Inter-School Quiz at India Islamic Cultural Center on 7 October 2022. This activity, one of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and India, aims to promote Thailand in various aspects and also to enhance the ties between the two countries through the young generation across India. 

H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, in her opening remarks at the on-stage competition, shared an overview of all the common linkages that Thailand and India share in terms of trade, textiles, food, culture, and languages. As many Indians might not be aware of these close ties, the Royal Thai Embassy, then, used this Namaste Thailand Quiz as one of its platforms to raise awareness on Thailand - India relations among younger generation.

The Namaste Thailand Online Quiz took off on 12 September on an online platform, whereby innumerable numbers of the young generation across India took part in. The Quiz had over 750 active players joining in everyday sessions and the content interaction views reached around 115,195 in number.  The special Inter-School Quiz was also a huge success as it had approximately 300 enthusiastic participants from 53 different high schools in Delhi and NCR States joining the preliminary round, of which 6 teams from different schools got through to the final rounds. 

The winners and the finalists, both online and on stage were felicitated with certificates along with gifts from the Royal Thai Embassy and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi Office.

Events to commemorate the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India have been organised throughout this year by the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi and the Royal Thai Consulate Generals in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai, including other Thai governmental agencies in India with the aim to enhancing bilateral relations and closer ties between the two countries and peoples.
