On 25 December 2022, H.E. Miss Sasirit Tangulrat, Ambassador, and Mr. Wisit Bunyaritthipong, Counsellor, visited the Thai nationals working in Lubumbashi, the second largest city and the center of the mining industry of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). Currently, there are 10 Thais mostly working as spa therapists.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of keeping oneself healthy and safe, living and working legally in DR Congo, and staying in close contact with the Embassy. The Ambassador emphasized the Embassy's readiness to look after Thai nationals abroad and gave them an encouragement to work and live happily, despite being far away from home. On this occasion, Thai basic medicines, masks, and the COVID-19 ATK test kits were given to Thai nationals in DR Congo to better look after their health and stay safe from COVID-19.

There are currently 28 Thai nationals residing and working in DR Congo. 15 of them work as spa therapists and live in Kinshasa, the capital city of DR Congo. Another 3 work as staffs of the organizations under the United Nations.
