Ms.Sasirit Tangulrat, Thai Ambassador to Kenya hosted a reception at the Royal Thai Embassy on 22 July 2022 to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Thailand-Kenya diplomatic ties.

Thailand and Kenya established their diplomatic relations on 25 July 1967. To date,  cooperation between the two countries has expanded and prospered in many areas; from trade & investment, agriculture, tourism to public health and development cooperation.

Ambassador Sasirit, in her speech, reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to further strengthen development cooperation with Kenya on the basis of equal partnership and mutual benefits. The Ambassador also reiterated the Embassy’s readiness to support private sector of both sides to explore trade and investment cooperation, which still have vast potential particularly in the areas of food processing, auto parts, fishery, hotel and hospitality sector as well as medical tourism.

Ambassador Anne Wanjohi, Director General of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, underscored Kenya’s endeavor to expand both bilateral and multilateral relations with Thailand and ASEAN. She valued the development project in agricultural sector rendered by the Embassy to the Kenya School of Agriculture.

On this auspicious occasion, the Ambassador of Thailand handed over a financial contribution from the Thai Government to the National Museum of Kenya for Thai-Kenyan Orchid House renovation.

More than 60 guests from government agencies, private sector, media as well as Thai community participated in this memorable reception.
