On 20 - 21 July 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Thai Students Association in Malaysia (TSAM), and with support from Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (Public Organisation), Yala Rajabhat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Prince of Songkla University, and Southeast Asia University, as well as Team Thailand in Kuala Lumpur, including the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) - Kuala Lumpur Office, and the Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia, organised the Training and Routing for International Career 2024 (TRIC 2024) Project at the Embassy and Oakwood Hotel and Residence. The event was well attended by over 100 Thai students across Malaysia.

On 20 July 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, presided over the opening ceremony of the TRIC 2024 at Rajapruek – Bunga Raya Hall, the Embassy. In her address, the Ambassador underlined the close bond between the Embassy and Thai students in Malaysia, while emphasising the Embassy’s continued support for those who are about to graduate and entering the workforce, and become the future generation of Thailand. In giving her words of advice, the Ambassador emphasised three guiding principles which will help the students to navigate their way into valuable working life: (1) prioritising skills development to meet current labour market demands; (2) fostering the will to learn and to become a well-rounded person, which will serve as a cornerstone for the students to seize opportunities in future life; and (3) upholding moral values and developing themselves from a recipient to a contributor by leveraging experience and knowledge gained through the Embassy’s activities to share and create opportunities for families, local communities, society, and the country. In addition, the Ambassador also extended her best wishes to the students for their success in their academic, professional, and personal lives so as to become the nation’s strength and driving force for Thailand – Malaysia relations.

The event provided a good opportunity for the Ambassador to casually interact with Thai students and introduce them to Embassy’s premise, its history and mission in safeguarding the interest of Thai people, including the welfare of Thai students in Malaysia. The event was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, which has greatly impressed the participants.
