On 30 November 2023, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata organized the ceremony to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great on the occasion of His Majesty the late King’s birthday on 5 December 2023. This auspicious day is also the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day. Mr. Piyapan Atipatya, Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata presided over the ceremony and led the officials together with their spouses in marking this auspicious occasion.

The occasion is not only a mere tribute to the benevolence of His Majesty King Rama IX, but also underscores the important role of fathers in both the family and the wider Thai society.
