Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) Delegation Visits Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai International Financial Centre

On 2 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Consul-General, together with Deputy Consul-General and Consul of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai, led a Thai delegation from the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) headed by Miss Pojanee Artarotpinyo, Special Advisor in Policy and Planning, for a visit to Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to learn and exchange views on Dubai's economic development policies, expecially in financial technology and innovation in order to apply best practices in developing the Eastern Economic Corridor's Business Center and Smart City Project.
On this occasion, the delegation met with Mr. Ahmad Khalifa Ali Al Qaizi Al Falasi, CEO - Corporate Services & Investment, DET, and his officers, and was briefed on business registration & licensing of foreign companies in Dubai as well as discussed potential cooperation on investment in Dubai and EEC. The delagation also met with Ms. Khadija Ali, Chief Representative - Business Development Segments, DIFC and discussed DIFC's role as the leading financial hub for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia where over 4,000 companies are based and its missions in developing and managing the financial free zone. As part of the visit to DIFC, the delegation took a tour of the DIFC Innovation Hub and FinTech Hive.
Moreover, the Consul-General hosted dinner in honour of the delegation at his residence. The Thai businesspersons whose offices are based in Dubai also attended the dinner.
