On 5 March 2022, Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Consul-General presided over the official opening ceremony of the "Thai Cultural Week" at the Thailand Pavilion, Expo 2020 Dubai. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE co-presided in the Pakhaoma-cutting ceremony with the attendance of the Heads of Team Thailand Offices in the UAE, Consul-Generals and their spouses, and the media. At the opening ceremony, there were Thai cultural promotion activities, namely "Thai Miracle," which is one of the Thailand Pavilion's daily performances that combines Khon with a contemporary dance, "Wai Kru Muay Thai and Muai Boran," "The Beauty of Thai Jewelry" Fashion Show, "The Art of Nuad Thai" (demonstration of traditional Thai massage), The Charm of Thai Cooking, and Muay Thai Fights, courtesy of the UAE Muaythai and Kickboxing Federation. The opening ceremony and its cultural activities gained popularity and attracted much interest from Expo 2020 Dubai visitors.
The "Thai Cultural Week" is organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Dubai on 1-14 March 2022 at the Thailand Pavilion, Expo 2020 Dubai with an aim to promote Thai culture through 4 aspects, namely Muay Thai, Nuad Thai (Traditional Thai Massage), Thai Food, and Thai Arts and Crafts. Visitors will be immersed with the Thai culture through various activities consisting of Thai cooking demonstration, Thai fruits and vegetables carving, Muay Thai trainings, Thai Arts and crafts workshop, nuad Thai, Talk-in-Thai challenge, and a showcase of Thai products.
