On 2 December 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy organized a luncheon reception for Thai Community in Qatar on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day 5 December 2023 at Dusit Doha Hotel. The event brought together over 180 representatives from diverse sectors of the Thai community in Qatar, including entrepreneurs, hospitality sector and restaurant professionals, teachers and students from the Thai Language and Culture School in Qatar, Qatar Airways’ cabin crews, Hamad International Airport officials and Thai students in Qatar. The activities featured the presentation of the Voluntary Consul Award and captivating performances by students from the Thai Language and Culture School in Qatar.

During the reception, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar delivered his speech paying tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. H.E. Ambassador also celebrated the uniqueness of being Thai, a source of pride resonating globally. He commended the Thai community in Qatar for their pivotal roles as unofficial Thai ambassadors, actively promoting Thai culture and values. This, he emphasized, serves as the bedrock for fostering cordial relations between Thailand and Qatar.

The Royal Thai Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and safeguarding Thailand's interests and the welfare of Thai nationals in Qatar and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the continuous support received from the Thai community throughout the years.
