On 23 June 2022, H.E. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to Qatar, attended the 66th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) at Dusit Doha Hotel. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Zamshari Shaharan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Qatar and Chairperson of the ACD in 2022, and was attended by seven ASEAN ambassadors in Doha, namely ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The meeting discussed several ASEAN activities to be organized in 2022 to promote ASEAN-Qatar cooperation, especially in trade and investment, cultural and people-to-people relations, and to increase awareness and understanding about ASEAN among the governmental sector and the general public in Qatar.

The ACD also bid farewell to H.E. Alan L. Timbayan, Ambassador of the Philippines to Qatar, who will end his tenure at the end of June 2022.
